For many people this has been termed "The space project of Architecture and Development". It’s size and scope is on a par with many of the great monuments of the world, such as the Pyramids or the Taj Mahal. The Maitreya Project is a Buddha the size of the Empire State Building in Uttar Pradesh in India. It is designed as a working building and the largest statue in the world, to be constructed according to the spiritual principles of the client organisation, designed to last 1,000 years and to
be created in an area with no stone quarries, international airport, mains water supplies or electricity.
Richard worked with the project team to win the highly competitive international bid. He then developed that team in multi-level creativity to cope with the unique challenges
this project represents.
